Jewelry Appraiser Attends Conference

 

 

Eileen Eichhorn, Graduate Gemologist/Appraiser for Eichhorn Jewelry, Inc. in Decatur, Indiana recently attended The National Association of Jewelry Appraisers’ 27th Annual Winter Conference in Tucson, AZ.

 

The Association, consisting of national and international membership, is dedicated to the maintenance of professional standards, professional ethics and education in the filed of jewelry appraising.  All members must adhere to the professional Code of Ethics of the Association and all appraisals assignments must be performed under the constraints of this Code.

 

This year’s conference concentrated on several work areas which confront appraisers on a daily basis updating their knowledge to keep them current.  Lectures were given on jewelry history as well as specialized areas of gem and jewelry sharpening the gemologist/appraiser’s skills using the refractometer, spectroscope, and various gemological filters. Ethics in appraising and appropriate market research was also discussed. The 100 hue color vision discrimination test was administered.

 

Ms. Eichhorn performs a variety of appraisals and gem identification services for insurance, divorce, estates, damage reports, estimates to replace, customs evaluation, collateral, comparison, qualitative reports, and casualty loss.
